Hey. I started my PhD almost 2 years ago and changed supervisor recently for a collection of reasons that were totally independent of me. The new one basically doesn't care about whether I have a project and has changed my topic 4 times in the past 2 months. First I got attributed projects that other people were already working on for a pretty long time, and now I'm supposed to prove something that all literature indicates is false because if it were true, it would be interesting. There's no guidance/supervision and I feel really lost. I've wasted so much time and I feel like I'm going nowhere. Don't know what to do. I feel like I'm really not capable of finding another project on my own. Am I not independent enough? Is this feeling normal? What should I do?
