Ive got a 1st in American Business Studies (Glamorgan) and a Masters in European Business (RoyalHolloway, UniOfLondon), and I am seriously considering applying to oxford or cambridge for their 2006 phd intake (in management).
How do you rate my chances of getting an interview? And if I was to get in, does being a an oxbridge uni enhance the chances of getting decent funding?
cheers
Hi, I think that the best way to get into oxbridge is to get in touch with a potential supervisor and suggest an idea for a PhD, they have lots of applicants so you need to stand out from the crowd. Don't wait for them to advertise places, get in there early. As for funding situation - i'm not sure. Good luck
am appling law phd law, ox 2006. ensure you have a master's and undergrad reference. perfect written work that is relevant to your phd. supervisors take ages to reply emails. start applying early, coz they take applications 4 times a year... gives you the chance to reapply if necessary. hope that helps. apply by Jan 06 to be considered for funding. whether being an oxbridge student enhances your chances, i'd say depends on where you intend to get it from.worry about an interview when you have one.
all the best. see you in ox!
