Hi all.

I am about 6 months away from writing up my PhD. I am currently a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley but will soon return to my home university to finish. UC Berkeley is massive in my field of study, however my adviser here is extremely difficult to contact or get any kind of meetings with (I mean, really really difficult!!)

I have been at Berkeley for the past year now - I was wondering if it would be seen as going behind my adviser's back if I was to approach a different Professor here at Berkeley to do a Postdoc?
In general, should I go with a suitable PI who I can work with as opposed to the Prestige of the university?
