I have managed to get an interview for a PhD in genetics. I have to do a 30 minute task before the interview which I have no clue what it could be. Has anyone had to do one of these before? What sort of thing can I expect? I am really freaking out about it.

I've never heard of this before but surely it's going to be something like 30 mins of lab work or genetics problems to check you know the practical side of things rather than just the theory?

Thank you for replying to my post. I don't think it will be lab work as there isn't any involved in PhD project, its epidemiology, genetics and biostatistics so maybe it might be genetics problems...I think I might need to revise all three areas.

Could be a teamwork exercise if multiple candidates are interviewing on the same day. Could also by a psychometric test like maths or non-verbal reasoning?
