Presenting at Conference

G

Dear all, I submitted a paper to one of these online conference and accepted very quickly- same day. 1.Is this normal? 2.It is vry expensiv & hav to pay for each page if it gets published. It is at the International Business & Economics Research Conference in Las Vegas. Hav u presented there b4 or know of people who have, was it worth it,its going to cost me over £700 in all. thanks

Sounds a bit dodgy! Normally abstracts are peer-reviewed and it takes a few months before you get a reply. Will this be published in a Journal? It seems a waste of money and effort for little recognition of your hard work!

G

I agree. An article in a journal that isn't peer reviewed isn't worth much on your CV. If these people are saying they'll publish your work so long as you pay them, don't go there.

G

Don't touch it. Sounds like a scam to me.

Hi Saleh, I'd be inclined to agree with all the replies so far...if the paper is gonna be published in a journal/book it should have an ISSN/ISBN number..which doesn't appear on their website...another clue is to check the programme committee, if no well known names appear then its likely to be dogdy...add to that the programme committee doesn't include any international academics...seems dodge! Hope this helps!
