Hello all,
I really would like some input from others. I am starting the third year of my PhD and I am looking for ways in which I can boost my confidence and drive in terms of publications and conferences. I am thinking of starting by attending a conference which is a small conference and requires a one page conference paper. This will be published in a booklet (but not offically with a conference journal). Is there any issues with starting with small conferences and working up towards larger ones?
I look forward to you comments and experiences.
Thanks.
Hi PhdMechEng
I don't think there is any problem/ bad issue with starting with small conference. I had also sent a 2 pages paper to a local conference from my Masters thesis. Later, I rewrite the paper by including more results, giving a different title to it, expanding it to 6 pages and sent it to an international conference. I don't think there is any problem with that. Or you can also send the paper to a larger conference straight away if you want to. Both are fine to me. Sorry if my reply doesn't help much.
