Does anyone have experience of one of these courses? As a nurse is it better to do one in nursing or one in healthcare? My first two degrees are in nursing. Would a healthcare one give a wider picture and potentially provide more opportunities in the future?

They take a LONG time!

Do one which takes you into an academic discipline such as sociology economics or philosophy. Medical anthropology, health economics and moral philosophy will definitely be useful post-doc. Be prepared for the hard work ahead.
