I have been considering to send one of my chapters for publication and wondering whether I have to write that this is the chapter from my thesis. I presented a paper in one conference and an editor of a journal sent email to consider my presentation for publication. Please suggest. Thanks, Swetch

Hi Swetch,
I've been advised against mentioning that any research comes from a larger piece of work, & this was by my second supervisor who is editor of a big journal. I don't know if this is true of all disciplines, I'm in education.
Congratulations on getting the consideration, it must be a good feeling!

I've been advised not to mention it as well.

Also, I've been advised not to publish parts of the thesis as chapters of a book, but journals are good, of course.
