Hi all, I am applying for new jobs and it seems my current supervisor is not giving a good reference. Did anyone face the same situation.

Then stop giving him as a reference. Is there anyone else you know who would give a good reference instead?

Also how do you know he is not giving a good reference?

Hi rewt, Thanks for the response. There are other professors who can give me good references but this is my current supervisor. I had applied for a job and they were interested in my CV and asked for references but after that they told I am not well suited for that position.

I would just give the other professors as references instead. No point risking it.

Defo - take no risks! Use the better referees!
