I have applied for a phd and an NHS clincal genetics job. The NHS offered me an interview in Salisbury on 29th April. I have just received an email from the edinburgh university offering me a phd interview also on the 29th April. Is it possible to ask them to reschedule or should i turn down the NHS interview (as i'd rather do a phd)?
Also i'd rather the university didn't know i was applying to NHS as it might show a lack of loyalty to research!
Help, i'm so confused!
Contact the NHS and explain that you are unable to make it that day as you have another interview and can they reschedule. You don't have to tell them what the job is for. If they won't move it, contact Edinburgh and ask them the same question. Both organizations have strict equal opportunities policies and will not discriminate against you, just because you've got an interview elsewhere - they'll probably be pleased to know that you're in demand.
