P.S. Well done on getting one of your lecturers to proof-read :o)

G

see... that's what am talking about? who asked you why you said it or when i said such a thing before? it's not helpful either is it? if it nagged you that much, why didn't you say anything on May 11th? thanks for enquiring about the journal but i'd rather not let you know where am publishing..i cannot risk underestimating what you are capable of.

G

Ok, I've done nothing but try to be helpful. I think if anyone should be offended here, it should be me. I just wanted to point out that science students are very much involved in the direction their work takes and suddenly I'm a terrible person! Hope it all works out well for you Sweetchic :o(

G

the comment then was on whether a master's degree is necessary for a phd, to which FindAPhD team agreed with as being necessary for international students. the accuracy of my comment is obvious to anyone reading this discussion now at it was then. so guess what Ann- stop trying to justify why you would outrightly criticise my not acknowledging supervisors who have nothing to do with an article.

G

you might as well have achieved that without personalising the whole issue by deeming my impression inaccurate when no one had asked for your wise opinion. if your looking for mercy by saying you're terrible, guess what, i wouldn't agree more.

G

ps: whatever the nature of science PhDs, it should be noted that it's social science comments (as stated in my question) that i was asking about.

G

Sorry if I'm taking this thread even more off topic, but honestly sweetchic, I think you owe Ann an apology. Even if you think her advice was irrelevant, it gives you no right to offend her in this way. Without Ann and her well-informed, helpful comments this forum wouldn't be half as good as it is now!

G

i don't dish out apologies where they are not deserved..if someone doesn't know how to follow instructions i don't see why they should answer the question in the first place.

G

Dear Jenny
Thank you SO much, I really appreciate your support. It means a lot. Very best wishes, Ann

G

you can continue revelling in the support, it does not change the fact that what you did was wrong.

G

Sweetchic, my area of research is management and business studies. It's a part of social sciences, isn't it? I think it's better to give the article to your supervisor and at least get his comments. Also it's fine if he is a co-author. It will only help your article in terms of getting the editors' attention, because hopefully your supervisor is known in your area of research and I am sure he will know better which journal to submit your article to.

G

yes it is a social science. if the supervisor wants to co-author the article, then i have no problem with that coz he will have reviewed it and as you say, it will be easier to get it published in the right type of journal. thanks for the tip.

G

I agree with Jenny- there was no need to be so agressive towards Ann, even if her coment didn't help you. You should really apologise.

G

no apology will be given.

G

Is this the PHd forum, or have I just stumbled into the pre-school section?

'Sweetchic', when you ask for people to give up their time to offer advice, to insult and rubbish them publicly is the height of ignorance and immaturity, irrespective of wether you think the advice was usefull or not. Your shocking belligerence and rudeness is utterly unjustifiable. That you can't admit you are wrong and apologise speaks volumes about you.

Did also you use txt spk in ur article? It really gives a good impression to the reader of your intelligence level.
