Hi,
Perhaps someone might be able to clarify something for me. If a thesis had been failed and the examiners recommend a year to resubmit but you suspect it might be difficult to make all the changes required in that space of time, is it possible to put in a new proposal for a different thesis topic? Thanks
Hi Hugh,
I do mean starting from scratch with another topic especially if the examiners recommendations are to start the whole process again. I'm aware its an odd question but I'm curious as to whether its even possible.
The examiners won't say start it again. You will get a pass (no, minor or major corrections), revise and resubmit, MSc or fail. If you fail, you will have to enrol again as PhD student, which probably wouldn't happen.
Alright thanks. I think my question would fall under the revise and resubmit regardless of the extent of revisions that had to be made.
