When is it appropriate to put your title on a business card? Or is it always appropriate. Examples below:

John Doe, PhD in progress

John Doe, PhD student

John Doe, Postgraduate Researcher

When your a PhD student/candidate what should you place, if anything, behind your name on your business cards? Or does it depend on your profession?

I've seen most of these on various student business cards, sometimes from the same university! I was unsure what to put on mine so I asked my dept's research admin. He said that there wasn't an official line, so I went with Practice-based PhD Student.
