Hi!
Browsing through the PhD-job opportunities I was wondering if you still have to attend classes when you are a PhD in the UK.
I'm from the Netherlands and things work somewhat different here I guess. Being a PhD is a full-time job and you don't 'go to school' anymore, besides doing e.g. a course in thesis-writing.
And what does 'Tuition fees included' mean?
Please tell me how it works in the UK, I'm curious about it.
Excellent website by the way! There's really a lot of info here.

Small Black Flower, these are questions with long answers. See our Funding and PhDs Explained sections for links and information. PhDs in the UK are like full time jobs, with little or no taught courses as in Holland. Unlike in Holland they only take 3-4 years. Tuition fees included, means that the fee that the university charges will be paid for you.
If you're doing a PhD in the Netherlands you may want to write a little about your experiences for our new PhD life section which will be on line next month. See this thread for details.
