University accommodation: The pros - get to meet lots of students and have fun and go out a lot, can be cheap. The cons - can be quite yuk to share with other students (I think we all know that one), can get noisey especially if living with a load of undergrads. Appartment: Pros - peace and quiet (depending on who you live with), clean (ditto), no need to worry about moving out in the hols. cons - lonely and boring (if living by yourself), could get expensive with all the bills etc.
To sum that up, if you want to live in a clean place and get some work done, then live in your own place or with one or two others. If you don't mind a dump, then live in a student house, you will get drunk loads, meet loads of new mates and get laid a few times as well.
