Can the discussion in a thesis really stretch to 100 pages? I've got a thesis here that passed, a good one, but the discussion is 100 pages (double line spacing). This might sound like a ridiculous question, but do you think a thesis discussion should stretch so far? I'm only at 40 with mine at this moment in time.
Depends. In philosophy or literature all of it is 'discussion'.
In my (empirical) thesis, I have 9 chapters, 8000 words each.
It's a survey-based, health sciences research study. I suppose it's like you say though - depends on the researcher and the author. I've awarded you a star to re-start you on your journey to stardom.
oh noooooooooooooooooooooooo i lost my stars!!!!!!!! my stars!!!!!!!!
Mods - please transfer my stars back to me!!!
Ohnooooooooooo.

I think it depends on how you structure the whole thing. I know somone who has done a HUGE lit review, but if you actually read it, its a lit review and methodological review (which I will have in my methods chapter).
I think my discussion will be "so overall, that was reasonably interesting but not earth shattering, more research is needed"
