Hi.. I am about to start an MSc course from September (12 months). Having spent a year after my BSc studies being totally unlucky in securing a 'good' job I've decided that I definately don't want to be in the same boat after I graduate from my MSc course. I want to do a PhD but would it be too early to start applying now (June 2005) for a post starting in Sept 2006? Or am I getting a bit ahead of myself? Please help...
ideally you should wait until you have taken the first module exams - usually November/december before applying for a PhD. This will allow your referee from your MSc course to give a valid reference regarding your abilities.
Postgraduate study and undergraduate study are totally different
majority of PhD studentships usually start being advertised from December for the new academic year anyway
Bishnu, if you are interested in the UK go to http://www.educationuk.org/ and search for PhD programmes in management, then go to the website of each university which PhD programme you are interested in and read info about how to apply, what requirements they have, what areas they are working on, and etc. Then choose universities you like and apply.
