I am getting concerned about this because it seems to me that the only way to have a career after a PhD in social science (in my case social psychology) would be in academia. Am I right?
At the moment I feel that I wouldn't like to stay in academia, so I am absorbed in thoughts about my future.... Any information available about careers of Docs in social science?
Thanks
Giuseppe
Hi Giuseppe,
Thinking about your question, I believe there not a bad future before social sciences. It's a job for all of us to find (professional) applications of what we do. You may want to change your profile slightly, building on your knoweldge, and combine various subfields. Organisational development for example, based on sociology of organisations is a field on the rise, and there is a good bit of sociology and psychology in it. You may just have a look what the market demand there is and adjust your profile accordingly.
