Goldsmith College has college scholarships for students, but for the application, they asked me to write a statement (no more than 1 page) explaining why I would like to be considered for a scholarship on the basis of academic merit.
Obviously, every student wishes the scholarships, and of course I’m afraid this is definitely not what they want to hear. So what should I write? What are they asking for?
Hi Shari,
I just finished a similar one page personal statement but felt the accompanying CV should handle the highlighting of academic merit. Hence I decided to focus more on conveying the idea that I have a passionate interest in the subject area, my aims, etc.
Maybe you could describe any pieces of relevant coursework, labwork or classes you took that you achieved well in?
C
Your personal statement for the scholarship will probably go to a different person than the one you have already filled out. Briefly list your academic achievements and how they relate to the project you wish to pursue. As suggested below include stuff about your passionate interest in the subject etc.
