Dear all,
I am preparing a journal paper. This is my first time sending a paper to an international journal. However I am not quite clear about the word limit. The guidelines says word count is 5000-7000. But my paper has only 3100 words. Should I just go ahead and submit it. Or try to add some more words here and there and make it atleast 5000 words? sorry if this sounds like a silly question. I just want to get submit it and move on with my research. Thanks.
If that journal says 5-7000 words then that is the length your paper should be - the editor will probably desk-reject anything that doesn't fit that profile. Maybe looking for another journal that accepts short research notes would be better, rather than trying to pad out your essay to proper article length?
