Hi! I want to complete a PhD in an environmental science or water related area. I have a 2:2 BSc Geography and MSc Water and Environmental Management. I have worked for two years as an Environmental Consultant and two years as a Land Surveyor but have no research experience.

Can anyone tell me how to go about gaining research experience so when I apply next year I will stand a chance?

You may not need the experience to be offered a place, but start by asking the tutors on your MSc course. They may need help with field work or in the lab for a few weeks/months.
