I am new PHD student in computing. Well , I was here in 16/7/2004. I have been reading and now I feel that I could not find any research issues, When I read, I read and somehow I agreed to what others said? How to be critical? I am so worried. Because did not find what I want to do?

Find everything said on subject (long tedious task;)tease out what you are in ageement with; critically review that body; now! what has not been said that u might say?

Does your Uni run any workshops or modules on critical appraisal? Ask your supervisor for advice, all the best.

papers says always bullshit

To become critical you must be in the field for a while to see the weakness of a paper. Find a paper you are interested in, ask your supervisor to discuss it with you. Ask other PhDs in your institute to forma discussion club once a week looking at one paper per time.
