What’s the probability of getting direct admission into PhD from Bachelors in Germany and other equivalent countries (including mid-tier universities) where Masters is required? The profile - undergrad from one of the most reputed universities of India with average CGPA, several years of research experience in relevant discipline resulting in good publications ( few first-author ones and a patent in progress), good recos from a fairly known profs. Are there any instances earlier where a candidate entered directly into PhD program of Germany(or its equivalent) without prior Masters but with some credentials to compensate it? I believe the decision lies on how well positioned the Professor is and influence the admission committee. Does the process work along this line? If yes how much chance lies in my case?
