Hello everyone,
Please I finished my Masters last year September and need to apply for my PhD but waiting to save up more money or hopefully get a loan when the PhD loans get approved in 2018. I want to be a Lecturer and I will like to know:
1) what I can do to better my chances of getting accepted into a PhD program between now and my application.
2) Do I need to change jobs in order to find a job that would help me in my lecturer career pursuit,
3) If yes to (2) then please what kind of job because now I am just working a Customer Advisor. Thanks and any advice is welcome.
What's your subject? Are you aware of how difficult it is to get a lecturer job? It's not advisable to do a PhD unless it's funded.
1) Get some relevant work experience, publish papers etc
2) No, getting a lectureship will depend on your publications and research in about 10 years post PhD...
3) Read up more on what a PhD is and what the job market is like post PhD.
