Hello Guys!! I am preparing a PhD application and I would like to have some help with my Motivation Letter because my English is not so good. Any help would be really appreciated :) Thanks!
To whom it may concerned
I am writing to apply for the position of PhD student on fluid mechanics with reference number: ***, as advertised on your department website. I hold the master degree in mechanical engineering-energy conversion form *** and bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from ***.
In my master dissertation developing flow of viscoelastic fluid in a curved pipe with annular cross section was investigated numerically using a second order finite difference method based on the projection algorithm to solve the governing equations. It needs to develop a computer based program. I enclose my paper on this subject which is to be published. I am excited to continue working on numerical analysis of fluid mechanics. Therefore I was waiting for such a position where I can use my experience in computational fluid dynamics. I also have experience in parallel processing method in numerical analysis.
Once I have completed my degree, I focused on my professional career. I am currently working at *** which designs and manufactures gas turbine. I worked on dynamic simulation of natural gas plant to choose proper anti-surge control system to assure gas compressor stability. A technical report of what I worked on is enclosed for your review.
I would enjoy discussing this position with you more. I am enclosing my curriculum vitae for your review. Letters of recommendation will arrive under separate cover. If you require any additional materials or information, I am happy to supply it. Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincerely,
***
Dear sir,
I am writing to apply for the position of PhD student on fluid mechanics with reference number: ***, as advertised on your department website. I hold a Master's degree in mechanical engineering-energy conversion from ***, and a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from ***.
In my Master's dissertation, I investigated the developing flow of viscoelastic fluid in a curved pipe with an annular cross section, numerically using a second order finite difference method based on the projection algorithm to solve the governing equations. It requires the development of a a computer-based program. I enclose my paper on this subject which is to be published in due course in ***. I would like to continue working on numerical analyses of fluid mechanics, and have been awaiting an opportunity to demonstrate my experience in computational fluid dynamics. I also have experience in parallel processing method in numerical analysis.
Having completed my degrees, I focused on a professional career, and currently hold the position of *** at ***, a gas turbine designer and manufacturer. I work on the dynamic simulation of natural gas plant in order to select the correct anti-surge control system, which ensures gas compressor stability. A technical report of what I have been working on is also enclosed.
I look forward to discussing this position with you further and enclose my c.v. for your perusal; references and letters of recommendation will arrive separately. If you require any additional, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
***
Sad_zam, it's probably worth pointing out that at some point you will presumably meet them in person, and they may question why your written English is superior to your spoken English (no disrespect).
