Concerning fully-funded PhD studentships (specifically in Arts/Humanities) in the UK, could anybody tell me generally how the stipend is paid to students? Do they get paid once a month like a job, or is the payment generally split over each term?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on a fully funded AHRC, and was due to get my first payment today. It hasn't arrived. My understanding is that I'll receive payments on a termly basis, for a collaborative PhD, but I'm reserving judgement until I see the ££.
