Hi Folks,
Back at Easter I accepted an STFC studentship starting 28th September, returned my acceptance letter to the university, created my Je-S account etc, but the admissions tutor for the university emailed out to all the new PhD students starting to say that the STFC process had changed, and where as in previous years, the nominations had to be completed by July 30th, this year they have to be completed one month after we start. We were told to abandon the process we'd started and just wait. Je-S accounts are no longer used aparently (?).
How are STFC going to pay our stipends in that first month if the paper work isn't completed prior to us starting? The admissions tutor reckons it's just going to happen anyway and we'll get paid on 1st October, but I just don't see how that's possible. ???
Can anyone offer any reassurance or information?
Thanks in advance
