Hello, I've been reading but not posting here. It was always good to hear when people got a letter so I knew at least some people were getting their decisions. So here's my news: I got a fees-only award for a RPM, panel 4, letter dated August 20, arrived August 22. YAY! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!
I received a call from the AHRC yesterday to check they had the correct address. They did. They said they would resend the letter, I asked for 1st class and they said they 'would try to get authorisation' to do that, otherwise it would be 2nd class. Post has just arrived, no letter, hey ho.
Morning all, another no-post day for me. Anyone out there heard/ still waiting to hear from Panel 5...?
Yay, happy to hear i'm not alone. I remember reading somewhere that 5 september is the cut-off point, if you haven't heard by then you're supposed to phone (what happens then i've no idea). So in reality, that's another week...
I advise you to phone now. As I found out, the letter had been posted 3 weeks ago. I'm really worried now because don't you have to reply to them within 2 weeks if you are granted an award?

Hi FingersCrossed,
I phoned them last Tuesday and they said my letter hadn't been generated yet. Someone else who rang them last week was also told that it can take about a week between generation and posting, and since they send them second class it's not really surprising that mine hasn't shown up yet (although very annoying!). It also seems like quite a few panel 5s here are still waiting. I will phone them on Monday if I don't hear by then, because last week they told me to phone back if and when I hadn't heard by the end of August. Also, I believe someone who received a positive response said you have 3 weeks to respond this year.
P.s. BagofNerves, I know one person who has heard from Panel 5. She had a negative response early last week.
Thanks to panel 5 people, it's reassuring to know. I spoke to two people today in my department also waiting to hear. To fingerscrossed- maybe you could use the envelope postmark to prove when you received your letter? If you have any problems that is, but I'm sure you'll be fine. It's definitely 21 days to accept.
I hope you poked them in the eye :-) Well that's one positive and one negative. All these bare threads to hang on- it's ridiculous. I can't concentrate on anything! Fingers doubly crossed for tomorrow...
I can't believe there are so many of you out there still waiting for your letters. I received my good news on Tuesday, but my letter was generated 2 weeks previously. The date on the letter was the 22nd, so there can be a long delay between the letter being generated and it actually being printed and posted. Its ridiculous you are all still waiting, I was going mental last week so I can really sympathise with the way you are feeling. I would say (having spoken to many AHRC veterans) that those of you whose letters haven't been generated maybe on the reserve list. Although having said that their incompentancy knows no bounds so I could be wrong.
Good luck anyway, I wouldn't wish this process on my worst enemy
xxxx
congratulations Hannah! I have also had good news this morning from panel 5. I'm over the moon. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this forum, it has provided me with so much support- and distraction- during an agonising wait. Best of luck to everyone.
