Hi i'm doing a masters course but have never done anything on qualitative analysis.
I'm quite confused about the difference between Thematic analysis and Grounded theory? Can anyone give me a good explanation for a beginner!
In an assignment i am asked to justify which analyltical approach i would use but i am not sure what each methods entails?
I have to read a transcript and code themes but would the coding be different in each of the methods of Thematic analysis compared to Grounded theory? How many themes should i stick to and do i need to show these themes/subheadings in a table and refer to them later?
Also after I've created themes how do i go about analysing them? what kind of things should i mention or need to include.
Sorry but I'm not clued up about this subject and i'm quite overwhelmed with it.
Thanks
