I'm trying to find PhD studentships in stem cell research in the US but I'm struggling, I've tried googling and don't really get anything. I've also been on a couple of the universities websites like California and New York to see if they have advertised anything but I didn't find anything there either. Is it not like the UK where they just advertise PhD studentships?

I am a uk student, do I have to ask the university if there are bursaries or do I have to apply for something and find out myself?

I am planning to start an Mres in september, but I will have great difficulty with paying the fees. Does any one know how I can apply for any grants or any help with fees for masters?
