I understand that if a PI found guilty of research misconduct the chines of staying in academic are 50-50. Pi can funding once the suspension is lifted. What about PhD students who lost their PhD degree. Research misconduct investigations are not transparent and many times just because of unintentional mistakes one will be punished. Is there a way to do another PhD, because science is the passion.
