Im surprised at you!!! How can you possibly think of dstudying in UK when u have a choice to study in USA. If I am given a choice I would definately go for USA...the system of education is much better there, less pressurizing and very good universities are available. Honestly there are some good universities in UK but from what I have heard from a lot of people studying in USA including my own sister studying there for the past ten years, I have realised thats its the best place to go to for studies. Belive me the system is a lot better. So please give it a thought!!!Also UK is very expensive....
Hi I have stayed in Germany for the past three years as I came to do my masters here on a DAAD scholarship. Im not saying anything against Germany but to be honest u shud think twice before coming here. Firstly there are not many good universities here and secondly infact more importantly its not an English speaking country so its quite problamatic infact gets frustrating at times. I wud suggest that you look into other countries perhaps UK, USA , Canada, Australia or Newzealand. And getting funding here for PhD is not impossible but very difficult and considering that you are over age makes it more difficult. Im sorry im not trying to make u feed bad but its the reality. Choice of going to another country wud be much better...u will realise it sooner or later!!!
I guess u have made a good choice of studying in USA since its actually the best country for persuing higher education as their system is quite compatable and less pressurizing as compared to the european system of education. U shud type top universities in USA on google and once u get the list go on each university´s website and look for the desired course, once u reach click on the faculty and see which teachers are available with their specialized fields and likewise contact them.
Also look into Canada i wud say....
Good Luck!!
Hi I once wanted to do MSc in Conservation from UCl but unfortunately I couldnt get a scholarship so i ended up coming to Germany for my studies. But now im thinking of doing a PhD in Conservation Biology from Canada. Perhaps you should should also look into Canada and USA and Australia as they have very good programmes on biodiversity and conservation.
Thanks for the consolation 404, however to be honest with you I feel everything is so unfair on this planet. You are right i used to care about envt once but after seeing people´s attitudes and level to which some people can stoop just makes me wonder how i could actually waste all these years in this field. I think im very materialistic and being a materialistic person I shud have gone into MBA or some other field which wud have made more sense. Its rediculous being a broke and looking out to saving the worlds envt by begging people to hire you....that really sucks!!!Let them save it themselves...who cares!!! everything in this life is so rediculous and meaningless.....
I can pretty much understand what you are going through but I more or less agree with others. Life is all about struggle and its so unfair. But at times when you feel low, its God testing your patience!!!I mean look at me, you should thank God for what you are. You could have been in a worse place like me...always look at people below you.
I think now I have reached my limits. After having done a double masters and not being able to get a PhD frustrates me...im actually thinking of changing my field, cuz this field of envt sucks!!! I dont care about any envt actually!!!To hell with everything!!!
