Hi,
I'm really trying to get onto doing a phd, have failed one formal interview so far, and have one other potential formal interview coming up. My research area is quite interdisciplinary. I did Anthropology for undergrad, where I got a 2.2 (1% away from a 2.1), then I did an MSc in Evolutionary Psychology (pass), and now I'm just waiting for my dissertation result (which is the basis for my PhD idea) for a second MSc in Bioarchaeology (where I'm hoping to achieve a merit).
The topic is human behaviour, is that area really competitive not only in terms of places but also funding? I can see how difficult it would be to get a studentship and the government loan definitely won't cover living costs as well as fees. How best could I get funding, is this the time of year where I should be thinking about applying to places as well as asking potential supervisors if they think there would be funding available in terms of studentships at that specific uni? Do I have any other options? Do you guys know anyone whose got funding in my research area with my grades?
All advice is welcome.
Thanks guys.
