Hi everyone, bit of a dilemma, I've finally found a good potential Phd subject only it would definitely be affiliated to a Philosophy department and my background is in English Lit. I think I have the relevant experience to do the Phd but my plan was for it to lead to a job lecturing in English Lit. If I go ahead with this Phd would I be eliminating any opportunity to work in an English department? I'm assuming that without any previous experience in studying philosophy I wouldn't get work there either and I'd hate to have done all that work for it to be totally irrelevant!
