Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum but I have found a lot of new and helpful information, so thanks a lot!
I've been considering doing a phd for a while now, I finished my masters in forensic psychology in 2007. I've also been looking into funding and it seems like it's quite difficult to secure funding with many people ending up funding themselves. I've spoken to a few people about self-funding and a couple told me that it's generally looked down upon by others in the field if you've funded yourself. Is this true? It seems quite harsh to me to have to reconsider doing a phd if you can't secure funding.
Anyway I was just wondering if it really is the case that self-funding is looked down upon.
Thanks a lot for any advice!
