Hi everyone,
Fantastic progress from you all yesterday! Well done! I didn't get everything done. Implementing my supervisors comments is taking longer than I thought, but then she was really really thorough. It's okay though, I will re-adjust today and just make sure I reach my end of week target.
I have a very important meeting with her today to discuss thesis overview/examiners/hand-in date/money(!) so today will be a good and productive day not just for writing! I have declared it! I have all sorts of other things on today (you know how it is sometimes) but I aim to finish editing my methods, intro, results and possibly discussion for section 2. But I also have to fit in career advice meeting, waiting in for british gas to fix the boiler, body pump and combat class, and helping my friend build a bed... so we will see!
Good luck today everyone! (up)
Can I join in please!
I have 7 weeks to go until my deadline and am starting to panic about how quickly the weeks fly by!
I am meeting my supervisor tomorrow to agree on the final thesis structure, chapter by chapter (finally!! It keeps getting changed which is not good when you are writing to form a logical argument through your thesis!)
So, before the meeting tomorrow, I aim to have finished editing and checking the chapters she gave me feedback on and have a plan for my next 7 weeks that I WILL follow ready to show her also.
I am working at home today waiting for British Gas to come over...no heating....freezing...no chance of feeling sleepy!!
Good luck today everyone and hope your days go well.
Here goes!!

Hi,
Thanks for your replies. Because it was a meta-analysis (where the author takes a bunch of small drug trials and re-analyses them as a whole using a specific statistical package it is new work. It wasn't just a lit review. It is just the re-analyses I want to put in. I did in during and as part of my PhD and it just happened to be interesting enough to publish...:-~
I am in a Science department so i hope it is okay. Supervisor is away in Indonesia at the mo, hence me asking here!
Hi everyone,
It's my first post! Only just discovered a forum like this which is a lifesaver considering I am on my own all day!
Can anyone advise me? I published a meta-analysis in my 2nd year as first author and need to put it in my thesis. However, some parts of it (literature review) would end up being a repeat of another chapter I have written for the thesis. Is it okay to take out extracts of published work for the thesis? And if so, how do I make it clear the work has been published and is not the full paper?
Thanks! :-)
