Hello people, the research topic i am working on was my supervisor's idea, though this work is a master's degree work but a lot has gone into it, my supervisor has told me that we will have at least 3 or at most 5 publications in my work. We are solving a heat transfer problem but the matlab code we are using to solve the problem and the rigorous mathematics involved in PDE to ODE conversion were all my sweat. I have noticed that students who had their thesis under my supervisor's supervision in the past have always been second author but i do not want this. What can i do?

Hello bro, as much as i feel sorry about your situation i am a prospective phd applicant and i have not had lots of experience in such regard but i feel there must be some other lecturers who will be reasonable enough to understand that your supervisor is not being fair and offer some helping hands, you could see one of them.

Moreover, there should be a postgraduate advisor or counsellor you can speak to who should be able to help, i think a phd has a duration and candidates should be allowed to exhaust this before a supervisor would say they are incapable of completing the work.

However, you can still plead with your supervisor and try to understand why he thinks you are not capable, who knows? There could be something he wants you to change, perhaps he sees the potentials but insufficient willingness and energy.... Just talk to him. This should even be your first point of call before the other steps above. Thanks.

Please i need your advice on how to find schools that will give me phd scholarship based on my most recent degree. I have contacted many schools and all proved abortive, I will share my recent experience with you.

I hold a B.tech in mech. eng. from a nigerian university with CGPA 3.25 of 5 and i am alomost through with a master's degree with CGPA 5.73 out of 7 after coursework, this can even increase when my thesis is completed.I recently found a potential supervisor in the university of queensland, australia who said i will not be able to secure a scholarship because of my First degree CGPA, the search is now so tiring. I had first degree education in a Nigerian university that has a lower ranking than my current university.

I need your candid opinion on the way forward, 5.73 of 7 is a first grade in my school(University of Ibadan) and it means i can start a phd here but i want a school in the americas, europe or Oceania(Advanced countries).Please help me.Thanks.
