Hi Guys,
I am looking into starting a PhD after having recently completed a Masters in Strategic Management.
I am just wondering where do most people get their raw data to analyse for their PhD, particularly for a PhD in the area of ICT Management which is the high level area I was thinking of doing a PhD in.
For my Masters I was able to survey/interview colleagues where I worked to get this data, which was fine in the context of my Masters.
My biggest concern is how do I get access to people in other companies in order to get raw data. Do I just start cold calling companies or sending out cover letters to companies explaining my research when the time comes.
Any advice on how you gained access to data in other companies for a PhD would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
