Does it matter if the outcome if minor or major? In the end, you need to do the corrections based on the list. I'm sure you wouldn't have to wait for 12 months to submit your corrected thesis if you manage to complete it earlier.

Have you tried talking with that MSc student? Maybe she was facing the same problem but found a way to convince your supervisor.
