Hi,
I am a final year student in computer science. I find my course extremely uninteresting and so I am looking divert out of computing field (basically programming etc) into design, architecture type of field. However I found it almost impossible to do masters in architecture without a 1st degree in architecture so I decided to explore my other options in this design field I am interested in. Then I found an interesting course "MSc Digital Architecture" in the University of Newcastle, UK.

The course seems interesting and meets right in between my first degree background and design (my current interested). But before applying for this course I want to know further information from people who really know about this area of DIGITAL ARCHITECTURE. I am afraid to just go and do it since this is a quite new degree and I don't exactly know what type of a career/job I will have after completing this degree.
I would like to get advice and information from any experienced people in this area or who have done this course themselves, to get to know about what I will get out of this course and what jobs I will be able to do after completing this degree? Anything you can share about this field or course is very much appreciated :-)
Thanks for your reply Pink_numbers! I have been very frustrated and confused about my MSc course selection since I graduate in few months and have to apply soon if I want to get into a UK university by September/October. Your post actually made me feel a little better, knowing that you have been through the exact same experience with computer science :)
I will definitely take your advice and search for more interesting courses in computer science. In the mean time, if you don't mind could you please tell me the course and field which interested you?
Thanks again!
I too considered drifting to the interface between computing and design. It was suggested to me by others as well. However I thought this will have a major involvement of programming (which I dislike and find quite boring in my current field). So I decided to not consider that option as well.
Do you have any area in specific or may be an example course you could suggest as an example of a mix between computing and design?
Thanks for you reply :)
I am a final year student doing a BSc Computer Science. I will be completing my degree in less than 4 months and so I am checking for masters courses right now. But this is a difficult task for me since I want to change my field from Computer Science to some other architecture/design/planning related course. This is because I dislike computing and find it extremely uninteresting and an unsuitable career path for me.
As I searched for masters courses I found that it is impossible to do a MSc in Architecture without having a 1st degree in the same field.
Could you pleas give me advice on what other courses I could do or paths I could follow, to qualify for a architecture/design related masters, WITHOUT having to spend for a bachelors in architecture, as it is very costly and time consuming?
