Invitation to Participate in a Survey about Peer Review:
Dear All,
I am writing to request your participation in the survey entitled Peer Review: A valuable yet neglected tool for early-career researchers. This survey will be extended to students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The survey, conducted by a group at The University of Manchester, will focus on the role of post-graduate researchers (PhD) in the peer review process. The survey will attempt to gauge the attitudes of students towards peer review of manuscripts and ascertain the level of experience early-career researchers have of peer review. If students have experience of this, they will be asked to evaluate the effect that peer review had on various skills. The data will be used to try and highlight the potential benefits that peer review can have on early-career researchers. To our knowledge, a survey of this kind has yet to be carried out. Your responses are therefore invaluable in broadening the so-far limited understanding of this area.
Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and all of your responses are anonymous. None of the responses will be connected to identifying information.
The survey will take approximately 3 minutes to complete.
