Thanks for the advice!
Just to be clear there is no way that I would be able to self fund a PhD but I have considered taking a personal bank loan to fund a 1 year Masters, which is terrifying but hopefully worth it.
I will defiantly take your advice and apply for PhD research first.
Thanks for the tip about different institutions, I have heard that it can be good to get some experience of different universities.
Hi Everyone,
I am currently in my 3 year of undergrad and have been advised by my personal tutor to apply for a 1+3 ESRC funded PhD, I will be applying to two institutions for the 1+3 but I also wanted to apply for a Masters at one of them as well (just incase I don't get funding as I think I can just about manage to take a personal loan for a 1 year MA) I was wondering if any body had any similar experience especially with regard to when to submit applications (at the same time? MA first? PhD first and wait to see if I get funded, then apply for MA if not...?)
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Rosie
