hi i am nearly at the end of my masters course and i was thinking of maybe entering into the clinical field or doing a phd. not sure if i can enter clinical field such as clinical trials if i have only BSc in biomedical science and a MSc in clinical neuroscience and no other experience. does anyone have any info on this pls let me know. also if you could let me know apart from clinical trials, where else in the clinical field can i work in considering my background and lack of experience. ?
also regarding phd, is it possible to do a science phd which is non lab based. i feel my lab skills or expertise in lab are very rubbish not even worth mentioning and also don't like being in the lab much, get bored easily in the lab
SO is it possible to a non lab based phd preferably in the area around neuroscience (Parkinson or Alzheimer)?
hi i need to select a dissertation topic and would like to work in neurology(Parkinson or Alzheimer) related projects. the only problem is that the supervisors at my uni are offering lab-based work and i feel like my lab expertise are rubbish, not even worth mentioning. the few times i have worked in lab, things have gone wrong or things would be fine according to me but then i find out from the lecturer i have contaminated samples or used wrong products and hence messed up the results. i have not had much experience in lab work and hence feel doing a lab-based project would ruin my chance of doing a good dissertation.
i was thinking of maybe getting the data from somewhere else like a clinical trial that already in place. now i don't know i can do that as have no contacts in the health care field or clinical trials.
but my question is should i leave aside my concerns regarding my lab skills and risk doing a lab based project?
OR if i did manage to secure data from somewhere else would it look bad for my project? pls advise as to what you think i should do...
