In answer to your first question I don't think you would have too many problems. I did a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, worked for a year in a molecular/microbiology lab then started a PhD in Developmental Biology. About half of my final year modules were in developmental biology however so I not sure how I would have got on if I hadn't taken those courses.
Did you do any development modules in your degree?
Hi Zingo
What subject area are you thinking of doing a PhD in? I did my undergrad at Bath uni in the Biology/Biochem department and while I was there our department was ranked 4th best in the country and the university was ranked 10th overall. But the most important thing is that you do a PhD in an area you find interesting or you probably wont finish it.
Hi,
I just started my phd too, but I really like it and I think the main reason for that is because I have join 3 different sports clubs at the uni and so have three groups of friends at the uni who I can go and meet up with for lunch/ go out with etc. Also for me doing lots in my free time means that it keeps the stress levels down. If you're not into sport then why not try some of the societies.
Hope things get better for you whether you keep going or not
I've just started my phd(3 weeks ago) and my supervisor has planned a meeting for next week to decide how to move forward and design some experiments. I get along with my supervisor really well and what to be able to come up with some sort of useful input, but I'm worried that I wont have anything to say.
