I have been asked to look at the pro and cons of having a favourite teacher competition within my University department. I hate the idea of lecturers fighting over a small cash reward, and 'gamed' to compete without seeking to help improve teaching standards as a whole. Horrible idea, IMO..but I cant find any studies, research or opinion pieces as to the effectiveness of the approach. Anyone have pointers!
