Hi Hidi, you have clearly already accessed Student Services as you mentioned an advisor. some time with the Dean of Students to discuss your case and possibly the careers section would help. All you really need is to have your options clearly laid out to make a decision about your future from an informed base and to have your emotional and personal needs met and I honestly feel that Student Services are best placed for both of these issues. I do hope that things work out for you.

I so agree! I sometimes despair at my universities ability to be short sighted and frustrating but loving what I study is the key to keeping me sane. (That and lots of coffee!)

Hi Annieslim. I work in a Student Services, as well as being a PhD student myself, we see research students in the same situation as you all the time. It can be hell but their is help available and it does work. Please do contact your Student Support team today. the will feel so much better just by talking to someone who can help and cares.
