hey guys, i wonder anyone out there has the hands on experience on the photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS)? i need your help to determine the refractive index of my samples...please... sob sob

i have started off my PhD few months ago. i was so excited to plan on my lab works. However, after some time i feel there are so many limitation on my research work and i have been told that my supervisor have not got any grant yet!! i wonder isn't a supervisor should have get a grant first before they started off on what they intended to do? i wonder is there any one of you out there facing the same situation as me? i m so worried that i might not get my PhD in time.
