Hi, I'm applying for an English Lit PhD beginning session 2008/9 and I'm totally lost when it comes to funding. Basically if I don't get funding I can't afford to study so I'm really keen to explore as many avenues as possible. So far I know about the Arts & Humanities Research Council, thr British Federation of Women Graduates and my own university's faculty scholarship; but are there any other scholarship funds I should be applying for? I'd appreciate any pointers!
Hi, I'm an English Lit graduate who's thinking of going back to uni and doing a PhD after two years of unrelated (dull) work. I'm just a bit worried about my job prospects post PhD, as it's such a big commitment and I don't want to invest 3 years and a load of money doing something that isn't really going to benefit me afterwards. Will I have to move around a lot to find work, am I likely to find employment at my place of study? Will I be on the dole??? I'd appreciate the honest advice of any English Lit post-docs out there.
Cheers
