Yes, in college yes not in university level. So am working at college level. Yes cause I hired 2 cosupervisor and 1 supervisor. My first supervisor (later cosupervisor) didnot understand my project but let me do it as I had to shift to another city for its data collection. In that city I hired a cosupervisor (who a professor and I worked with him and he decent human not greedy) . Later when I returned to own city. My supervisor didnot understand how to check my results. So I went to this other supervisor (who wasnot my supervisor nor cosupervisor) and hence he asked me that I'll check result only if you make me supervisor and make your supervisor -cosupervisor. So as everything was done by me ,even results and I just needed it to get checked. I agreed to it. He checked and approved there were no mistakes. I wrote my discussion and conclusion and gave defense successfully. My new supervisor and old supervisor (later cosupervisor) were not specialised in my topic. However the cosupervisor I had hired in other city was specialised in it. Now I plan to go abroad for PHD in future. I have amazing references from my work places as I am very hardworking as a student/lecturer/doctor. So got amazing references from all clinical professor's as well

I already have academic Job and previous work experiences from academics from university where I worked as lecturer. Right now working as Assistant Professor in College. Plus my one co-supervisor of post graduation gave me very good reference letter. Along with other reference letters from my work experiences. Just supervisor reference might not be there. So would that even matter if I seek phd abroad. Cause at the moment am done with mphil in own country. And plan to apply for phd abroad in future. As I said earlier I spend all money on my project from own pocket and project wasnot even Done in university using their instruments. My supervisor didnot even understand my project until end as my field of project wasnot their domain of speciality . And they were asking for ownership of my project . If I hand over my own invention what was there left for me. Just a degree piece of paper wasting all my money to pay for project myself . If I was wrong the higher governing body over my university wouldnot have taken action ever to make them give me NOC ever.

I want to know where did I went wrong? Wasnot I justified to keep ownership of my own project when it's self funded, no instruments of university were utilised. I payed everything from my own pocket. Did everything alone in another City and in end supervisor just had to check and there was no mistakes and approved immediately for defense. So just how can I give them ownership. Policy even allowed students at my university to be owner of self funded research project. Even if I had transfered ownership. I was at huge loss in that case as well. Plus how does it end my academic career when I am not employee at their university even?

I think it's very very unfair if student project own idea, they self funded it, project done in another city and didnot use university any machines, student wrote all thesis and manuscript alone and gets to win patent case ownership even. And higher authority makes university give you NOC. Yet student cannot publish own hardwork cause of supervisor. That's so unfair . Please educate me where have I been wrong in all this? Maybe am missing out and you can educated me on my mistake in all this. Also nowadays every manuscript require solid contribution by each individual. When I googled its said , supervisor name not mandatory. But still kindly educate me on all this,if am unfair or not.

Yes I have written 3 myself alone, along with cover letters . It's ready to be submitted. Is it compulsory to write supervisor name ? Is it mandatory by publication even if you wrote all yourself. What contribution will I mention of My supervisor or co-supervisors in manuscripts written by me alone?

I got my NOC but after alot of Drama and reaching upto higher authority . They signed it and handed over me my invention but my supervisor was very angry. They signed it with extremely angry faces. Now as I have NOC to patent. And I can now even publish. I am confused if I should write my supervisor name ? Cause what if I write their name and they get angry. The relationship is quite under strain now after NOC. So I want to write their name but am scared if they will make issue or not? Or should I publish it solo?

Can I publish my articles as solo author without supervisor and Co supervisor?

For me patent isnot so important rather I want to publish my articles. But it was my supervisor who isnot letting me publish without patenting it. So I got stucked with patent process to understand and draft it. Now when I have drafted all And wanted to go ahead with patent filing and needed NOC. They asked me to hand over ownership. I didnot agree and was OK with just making them coinventor as gift and gesture of gratitude. But it hurt me when they created pressure. I worked very hard on it . I don't know if it will yield any commercial benefit but they predict it will and wants it. However, for me my project is just like my baby I invented and want to keep it. Plus might help me in future for phd or promotion or better job opportunities when on CV.

What is the difference between ownership and coinventors. I want to be owner and gift them inventorship.
The supervisor has no patent of own so need for both purpose. Also was told university needs it for ranking so I should hand over ownship to university. Yes I have been granted degree. My lawyer says just apply for patent solo and we will see what they do later. But even if I patent won't I need their rights to conflict of no interest to publish my articles in reputed journals ?

Now problem is she is forcing me that I give her 50% partnership, claiming that as she was my supervisor, so she has full right to be owner in patent and equal share in commercialisation. The Research department of university agree that they have no right to claims it but if supervisor agree only then will give me NOC to file the patent independently. Moreover, they forcing me that they want to pay for patent via grant , if i do that automatically they become owners too. As till now entire research during my Degree was self funded by me and the entire research was conducted by me in another city independently. They even said that this project will give their university ranking. I don't want to take grant for my invention. I can pay for patent myself. What should I do ? I need NOC to file patent. In NOC its just mentioned that its a self funded projected and conducted in another city and didnot utilise any facilities of university for this reseach purpose. Please suggest me what to do? I completed my mphil degree last year. The entire research was self funded. I didnot use any grant scholarship instruments etc from university at all. The reseach from start till end I conducted alot. However , my supervisor was someone else who didnot know how to check Biostatistics portion. So I changed my supervisor. She checked it and it was done by me perfectly. I have recieved my degree since 11 months. But I had to patent my invesion of thesis project. My university and supervisor are forcing me to give them 50% share . And forcing me to take grant from them for patent process. While I don't need any grant nor asked for it at all. They say if you give us 50% share we get it patent ,it gives ranking to our university . The commercialization share they want as well .
The patent office says they legally have no right to it if you have self funded the project and no instrument etc was utilised for it. Just take NoC from university and patent it. However,I still wanted to give my supervisor and Co supervisor names as Co inventors. They now forcing me give them share in commercialisation as well and claim it that they were my supervisor and has right over project.
