Thank you for replying to my post. I don't think it will be lab work as there isn't any involved in PhD project, its epidemiology, genetics and biostatistics so maybe it might be genetics problems...I think I might need to revise all three areas.

I have managed to get an interview for a PhD in genetics. I have to do a 30 minute task before the interview which I have no clue what it could be. Has anyone had to do one of these before? What sort of thing can I expect? I am really freaking out about it.

After contacting a PhD supervisor enquiring about their PhD project, they have asked to meet with me. What should I expect from this meeting? What kinds of questions will the be asking me and what should I be asking them? How much am I expected to know about the PhD project. The PhD is in epidemiology/genetics.

I am just about to start applying for PhDs. The problem I am having is what to say to the project supervisors in that initial phone call or email. What sort of questions should I be asking? Most of the PhDs I am applying for already have a project outline/description, should I still ask for more information about the project in that case? Most of the supervisors give a publication list of their work so I can't ask for that. What is it i should be asking?
